About Kayla

Kayla holds a bachelor's degree in legal studies/management and has nine years of experience in the legal field. She also spent five years as a portrait photographer, developing a keen eye for detail and composition. As an emerging artist, Kayla has dedicated the past several years to her artistic practice, showcasing her work in solo and group exhibitions primarily featuring paintings and photographs in the Las Cruces area. She was honored to serve as an Artist-in-Residence for the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument, where she drew inspiration from the natural beauty of the region.

Currently, Kayla is furthering her education at New Mexico State University (NMSU), pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Art in studio art with a concentration on 3D fabrication and sculpture. Her focus is on public art and site-specific projects, reflecting her passion for creating works that engage with the community and environment. In addition to her studies, Kayla is actively involved in the art community. She serves as a board member on the Las Cruces City Art Board and is a student representative on NMSU’s Public Art Committee. Her involvement in these roles underscores her commitment to contributing to and shaping the local art scene. Her artistic journey is supported by her husband and two children, who provide unwavering encouragement as she continues to expand her career. Her diverse background and dedication to her craft make her a dynamic and influential figure in the field of art.
