Kingston Leadership Award & Sierra and Kye Community Collaboration Award

Overview: The Kingston Leadership Award & Sierra and Kye Community Collaboration Award were established through the generosity of Smoky G. Torgerson to support early childhood education by providing financial assistance to doctoral students and faculty. These awards are housed within the Glass Family Research Institute for Early Childhood Studies at the College of Health, Education and Social Transformation.

Awards Details:

  1. Kingston Leadership Award

    • Purpose: Supports travel expenses for doctoral students attending Early Childhood Education conferences.
    • Eligibility: Must be a doctoral student pursuing a Ph.D. with a concentration in Early Childhood Education or conducting research explicitly related to early childhood education.
  2. Sierra and Kye Community Collaboration Award

    • Purpose: Supports faculty research in Early Childhood Studies that includes a community collaboration component with early childhood education partners in the borderland region.
    • Eligibility: Must be a faculty member engaged in Early Childhood Studies research that includes a community collaboration component.
